Lansdowne Allotment Project
Sun 24 Mar 2013
Come and help us make our new allotment site amazing!
WYAC ACTIVITY- Lansdowne Allotment Project
Sunday 24th March 2.00pm to 4.00pm
WYAC Allotment, Lansdowne Road, Worcester
On-road parking is limited as this site is within a residential area.
Please be careful not to block driveways etc.. You may decide to park in
Worcester City Centre and walk to the site – it is about 15 minutes
walk from the nearest car park at Queen Street, Worcester. We will meet
at the north gate entrance to the allotment next to the Allotment shop,
Lansdowne Road. Look out for orange t-shirts!
This will be our first all group activity at WYAC’s very own allotment
site! Find out all about the archaeology of this area of Worcester
(lots of Roman stuff!), and learn how people used to care for the land
in years gone by. You will be preparing the ground for planting our
Flax seed, deciding the layout of the site and what to plant throughout
the year as well as creating a willow hurdle fence using the same
methods that have been used for centuries. There’s lots to be done to
transform our site into a fantastic resource for the next few years –
we’ll even be doing some excavation later in the year!
PLEASE NOTE: There are no toilet facilities on site so please make sure you go before you arrive!
BOOK YOUR PLACE BY REPLYING TO THIS EMAIL (firstname.lastname@example.org) Bookings close by 4.00pm Thursday 21st March.
